Green fees
Many Icelandic clubs charge two rates: a lower one for members of clubs in the Golf Union of Iceland (GSÍ) and a full rate for everyone else. Visitors from abroad pay the full rate. The fees below are the full rate for 18 holes on a weekday, as published by each club; some 9-hole clubs charge a day fee instead. Prices are in Icelandic krónur.

Many clubs take tee-time bookings through GolfBox. The links below go to each club's own price list. Check opening hours and course conditions with the club before you go.
The season and the midnight sun
Courses are generally open from late spring to early autumn, and many close for the winter – Brautarholt, for example, lists its season as 1 May to 30 September. Around midsummer it stays light all night, so you can tee off late in the evening; Kiðjaberg sells “midnight golf” tee times from 21:00.
Weather and winter golf
Wind matters more than temperature. Our golf weather page (in Icelandic) scores every course from 0 to 10 for today and tomorrow – a higher number is better. In winter, Icelandic golfers move indoors: golf simulators cost from ISK 2,500 an hour.
How many golf courses are there in Iceland?
Golfið's map lists 61 golf courses in Iceland: 19 with 18 holes or more and 42 shorter courses, most of them 9 holes. Of these, 11 are in the Reykjavík capital area (see golf courses near Reykjavík). The other 50 are spread around the country, and all are listed by region below.
